The Appleton Downtown Christmas Parade is scheduled for Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021. The main parade begins at 7:00 PM at the corner of State Street and College Avenue in downtown Appleton and travels east on College Avenue to Drew Street. WDC missed the deadline for the main parade, but will be in the Pre-Parade at 6:30. Please meet at 6:00pm on the Northwest corner of College Avenue and State Street. Our unit number is P2 (see staging map below).
Be sure to have your dog on a leash and remember to bring poop bags. Only members may bring dogs. New members who have not yet been voted in are welcome to walk with us, but cannot bring dogs. We do need people to carry the banner and we also have leashes with “invisible” dogs that you can use. Members who participate in the parade will receive 3 volunteer hours.
“Superhero Christmas” is this year’s parade theme, with about 80 units including floats, decorated vehicles, walking units and animal entries.
Each year, over 80,000 spectators attend the parade. This year’s parade will be televised live at 7:00 pm by WFRV-TV. Local Channel 5 will also videotape the parade for rebroadcast on Saturday, November 27 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
